My Marvelous Monday

I have really loved fifth semester, because I feel I have seen Johnny a lot more than I used to. In Dominica he would study at school and would be gone most all day. Now he studies at home. He also has had some time that he can take breaks and go out. On Monday he did.

We headed out after a lazy morning and did some shopping. Then it was on to the main attraction of the day, THE HUNGER GAMES!

My dear brother Arlo sent us a Fandango gift card for Christmas and I knew exactly what movie I wanted to use it on. I enjoyed to books, just as so many others did, so it was obvious we were going to go. Daphne was such a good girl daddy had to go in the "hall' part of the theater a couple time, but just because she was talking to the movie screen. She especially liked the part when the scary dogs jumped out. Seriously she was cracking up, she thought they were funny. Johnny had to tell all the parts they left out, and all the plot holes of the story, but I enjoyed it. I usually am the same when I watch a beloved book that they adapted to film, but this time was different. I purposely went in telling myself to ignore that it was book and think of it as separate from the books. I had a discussion with a friend about this and she said that when they make these books into movies you have to realize its just some one else's interpretation of the story, and to keep yours in your imagination. So I did and, it worked.

He also took us out to Olive Garden for Soup, Salad and Bread sticks. Always good! Yes, I love days with my husband!!!

Bathing Babes

Yesterday we headed to the beach for the first time since we got here. Johnny didn't get to come because he had class, but we did go with our friends. It was a B-E-A-Utiful day. The only sad thing was that the current was to strong for us to get in the water. Sitting and playing on the sand with Bennett was good enough for Daphne though.

Isn't he so cute! I love his big eyes and curly hair and he always has the biggest smile. They play with each other pretty well, but I may have a future bully on my hands. She likes to pinch and pull on his hair. Even though she is younger she is the bigger of the two and I guess she thinks it means she's the boss.

The beach here is so different from Dominica. There was no shade. The sand is white and the water is teal blue, and there were a lot more people. I hope we get to take daddy with us next time.

Gnawing on carrots

Aren't you jealous of me?
I have a beautiful baby, a hansom hubby, a pool right down stairs and 80* weather!

We have gone to the pool a couple times, but today daddy came with us. It was such a nice day and we had to go. I took sandwiches so we had a little picnic after a good swim.

Daphne had her first taste of PB&J. I think she liked it even if it was only tasting and not eating. Those teeth just won't come, but I have a feeling they my make an appearance soon. Then she will be able to eat all sorts of things!

What time is it?

I woke up this morning and checked my phone. I couldn't believe it, it said it was 11:00am. I was so mad because I had so much I needed to do this morning and it meant we missed our trip to Batibou. One of the things I need to do was get a fan to Clare I figured I missed her, because she was going on a little trip. So I called to check if she had left or not. When I called she was still home and a little confused why I thought she would have left so early in the morning. It was only 8am! So I got to do all my errands and we didn't miss the trip, though we did miss out on some much need sleep.

We had an awesome time at Batibou. We got down the very muddy mountain and had lunch before we got to sandy. Then we headed into the beautiful ocean. Johnny thought the waves were to small, but I thought they were perfect. If they were any bigger I would not have let Daphne go in. She was tired, because I had woke her up early (oops), so she took a little nap on the beach.

Now we are home and everything is sold and all we have to do is pack. Only one day left and then our time on the island is over. Well I better get started on the packing so we can relax and enjoy our last day on the island.

Food, fun and a cranky baby

Tuesday night I went out with the girls for a goodbye party for our friend Meagan. I was super excited about it and had debated if I should take Daphne with me. I don't get to hang out without her very often, but had decided Johnny needs the quality study time with no distractions and Daphne would probably just fall asleep like she usually does. Boy was I wrong. She would have nothing to do with sleep even though she was super tired and of course she was fussy as a result. We got home and she went right to bed and all seemed to be fine, until the next day. She was not a happy baby. She would only sleep if being held and only for very short periods. She wanted to eat constantly and was just over all cranky. I know its normal for babies to have bad days especially if you mess up their sleep, but it was just so weird to she her so needy and fussy because she has always been so sweet and easy. Well lesson learned, next time I'm out and she is being fussy and not sleeping like she should be then we are calling it a night and both going to bed early. That's almost as good as going out with the girls right?
Besides the Daph being a cranky puss, I had a great time. We went up to DeChamps and reserved their hot tub deck area. We got to sit and watch the sun set, eat dinner and relax in the hot tub. We had a great time talking and eating cupcakes. Can't beat it!

Zam Zam Screw

Wednesday was another great day with the girls! In the afternoon we headed out to Screws Spa. It is one of my favorite places on the island. It is a natural sulfur spring in the middle of the rain forest. We got there at dusk and it was so wonderful. Daphne was a happy girl as well as mommy. We are both water lovers and especially when the water is warm.

If you remember I mentioned Zam Zams before. We were supposed to go for Katie's birthday, but couldn't because of a Tropical Storm that never showed. It was so nice. It is right on the water and served wonderful Mexican food. The only real Mexican food on the island. The owner was so sweet to us. I am planning on taking Johnny to both Screws and Zam Zams before we leave.

Today is my birthday!

Today was awesome!
Daphne was such a good girl this morning and took a long nap right after I fed her this morning so I basically got to sleep in 'til 11. Then I got up and got ready and we went and ate lunch with daddy. I went to Katie's house so she could help me with some computer stuff and hang out. We had a great time and I LOVE what we did to my computer, its so nice and organized now. Thank you Katie! I came home and dropped Daphne off with daddy so I could go to my massage. Daddy told me to go get a massage for my bday so I got an hour full body hot stone massage. All I can say is AMAZING! It was so nice and I loved it for my birthday present.
I came home and Daddy had gone and gotten Tulips so I didn't have to cook and it was great as always. So all in all my 24th birthday was a major success!

A day of rest.

If you would have dropped by our house today you most likely would have found Daphne and I asleep. Since she has been born we haven't had a day to just rest and it felt so good to just chill and take naps. I feel rejuvenated!
