COMP...lete

Johnny gets to check off one more thing on the long list of things to do before he can graduate. He passed the Comp!!! FYI- The Comp is a test that med students that studied abroad have to take that basically is to prove they learned what they needed to to be able to practice in the States. We are so proud of him. Just so you know last semester only 30% of the class passed it the first time, so yeah, MAJORly proud of my hubby for getting it on the first try.

Took this video of Daphne today and had to share. She has such a cute little voice. She was singing to her Giraffe pillow and I had to capture it. Of course the second I pulled out the camera she stopped, but I did get her talking a little. Enjoy.

Unbitrhday

Today I'm 6 months old, can you believe it!?! I'm growing so big and loving life. I am a pro at rolling over and grabbing things. Mommy and I are working hard on sitting up. I love all the food I have been trying and I sleep like a baby! Ha get it....I love to laugh and play. I'm super cute, at least that's what everyone says to me. I have been spending lots of time with mom and I have kinda got used to her being around. I feel really sad when I can't see her, but when I cry she will come and give me a kiss, I love it! Daddy is my best guy, he always smiles at me and makes me laugh. He is so fun. I have a pretty sweet life, but don't be jealous, I bet yours is pretty good too.

Could I be any cuter?

I am loving having Daphne all to myself again. Its nice to have family be there to help, but I'm having so much fun with her. We are spending all our time together and I love it. She is trying new things and learning so much. She is such a smart girl. Today I let her play around with a bottle and she took to it very well. She can hold it by herself and figured out how to put the nipple in her mouth all on her own. She even figured out that  if she grabbed the nipple she could pull it back to her after she dropped it. She couldn't pick it back up the right way, but she is getting it. I was so proud of her.
Johnny is full on into the semester now. He is going to be a busy boy. He takes the Comp tomorrow an then he has an advanced CPR class this weekend. On Monday he has his first hospital day. He is going to be doing a 12 hour ER shift. He is not excited about not getting a break after his test, but in know he is going to love being in the hospital. I'm so excited for him to get to work with patients in a REAL clinical setting. I know he will do great!

From Colorado to Forida

Our time in Colorado was great, but I think both Johnny and I were ready to head into the next phase of Medical school. That, as always, started with a long trip. We headed out on Tuesday and were hoping to get all the way to Louisiana that first day, but Texas is a LOT bigger than Johnny thought. I kept telling Johnny that I didn't think we would get further than Dallas. When we finally got to Dallas we got something to eat and then found a hotel to lay our tired heads. The next day wasn't quite as long, but we did spend the whole day driving.
Float
We  finally got to our "half way" point, New Orleans! Our hotel was right in the middle of down town so it took a little back tracking to find the right road. As we were turning on to it this little parade cut us off. It was a little bit of luck, because I think it would have taken us all night to find our hotel if I hadn't been able to get out and walk while Johnny drove. The hotel had another name besides the one we were looking for. ("Worldmark" vs. "Avenue Plaza" The parade was just a high school marching band that need to practice, so they thought "lets have a little parade". The floats were throwing beads(we got a ton) and it was great fun to get to hear them play. It was a great way to introduce us to the Big Easy.

After getting settled we went out to dinner at the Cheesecake Cafe. It was so good and really close to hotel, so if we ever go New Orleans again, we will definitely be stopping by.
WWII Museum
The next morning we headed out to the WWII Museum. We were told it was a must see. It was really a great museum and I know Johnny loved it. He loves History so it was a good choice. After that we headed to the French Quarter. We walked around looking in shops. We went and saw the St. Louis Cathedral. After this we were pretty hungry so we went in search of The Court of the Two Sisters. This is where we had wanted and planned to eat. They have a buffet that is supposed to be very good with lots of Cajun food. After searching all over the Quarter, we finally stopped and asked for directions. After a nice couple stopped and took us there we walked in and they told us the buffet was closed. We were very disappointed so we headed out to find a  relatively cheep Cajun restaurant. We headed back to the hotel early because we decided it probably wasn't safe to have a baby out on Bourbon Street after dark.
St. Louis Cathedral

The next two days were spent driving here to Mirimar, Fl. When we got in I was so happy to finally be here and get settled. The place we are staying is nice. The city is very ritzy with lots of shopping. To bad I don't have any money, or I could have a lot of fun here.

Looking back.

We are having a wonderful time here. Johnny is spending all his time studying, as usual. I am spending my time doing little projects and helping around the house. Daphne is being spoiled by her aunt uncles and Nana and Papa.

Christmas was great. Daph loves her Jumperoo. Joey kept with tradition and wrapped about 20 jars of baby food individually for me to unwrap (last year it was individual cool aide packets.)

Last weekend we headed up to Fort Collins to visit with Johnny's Aunt Faye and Uncle Bob. They are such sweet people and we love to visit them.

So life continues to roll on and its a new year already. Time is flying and soon we will be heading to Florida and the next step in med school.
